Hello!
In High School I had a two 1970 SS Chevelles, one a 396, the other a 454, both far from new but lots of fun.
I have been Drag Racing for a lot of years, recently running NHRA and IHRA Top Sportsman going as fast as 7.50 @ 180MPH. I sold that stuff and started building a couple hotrods but was looking for a nice driving Vette to enjoy.
I found this 2001 C5 mag red 6 speed with 48,000 miles. It has a few blemishes where somebody drove it over something and a rebuilt title from the incident that happened at 44,000 miles in California. For $11,000 bucks I think it will be a good start.
I already ordered a LMC5 and a C.A.G.S eliminator, blew fuse #49 in the underhood fuse center for the air pump (PO410) after washing under the hood. I drove it a couple hours home and to work before the "SERVICE ABS/TRACTION/STABILITY" warning came on and off a few times. I love GM but they make it hard to do so every now and then.
I have been a visitor on this site and knew, thanks to reading this forum, what I might encounter with a C5. I thought I would have to get a C4 or down with the budget I had in mind, but feel pretty lucky!
Just got mine on Monday. 2005 coupe Velocity Yellow! WOW!!!
I have had the opportunities of test driving them in my life time. But I was not prepared for the experience of actually owning one. Never in my life had I own such a powerful car and never have I owned a 400HP V8. I can honestly say “ I never had a V8”. No pun intended.
HAPPY!!!!!
