Third Corvette
The second was a 1979. Pretty Car -- No Horsepower!!
I have spent the last few months searching for a new Z51 LT3 Torch Red Corvette and finally found one at nearby dealership. Everything seemed to fall into place as this was during the time the Veterans Discount applied. The dealership in possession of the car told me I was qualified for the discount and suggested I rush down and buy the car as it just arrived and they already had another buyer interested. I had already received my Veterans discount authorization number from Chevrolet.
We rushed down to the dealership and to my dismay they told me they were processing another buyer ahead of me. There was my dream car on the floor in-front of me and gone.
Suddenly, my salesman appears and says the guy's not qualified, it's your car. We go to finance and they tell me We Are Sorry we cant give you the Veterans discount, but you are qualified and its your car if you want it. We bit the bullet and bought the car.
Now I find out other folks on this forum received the discount.
I have reached out to Chevrolet HQ. who say sorry Jack! Once you signed the contract its a done deal. I feel like the dealership duped me. I'm a Vietnam Veteran and have to say I expect this kind of treatment from The VA, but not Chevrolet.
Anyway, glad to be here!!!!
