Hello, I just got my first Corvette. I've been wanting one for ages. I stumbled across this site and it seems like there's a lot to learn on here so I figured I'd introduce myself.

I lucked out and found the perfect one. It's a 1998 automatic, torch red with light oak interior, and the generation I wanted.

Take a look...

Thank you.

I guess I should mention a few things about me. This is my first Corvette after owning five F-Bodies. I've always been big into the F-Body scene & still love them. But I wanted something different this time & I've always loved the C5 since I first saw it in the magazines when I was a teenager. So far I'm having a blast with it.

Yeah I had a yellow 2001 C5 with rare tan interior, automatic (wanted a 6 speed), body side moulding, both tops, and I sold it a few years back with only 11,000 miles. Getting a C5 again is on my list. Looks like a really cool car man. F bodies are really cool too.

Nice. I love the millennial (?) yellow. It's such a striking color.

The only thing I want to change on this one is get rid of the side molding. I'm antsy about doing it because I don't want to mess up the paint.

Other than that I love it. I'm using it as my daily driver.

Millennium yellow, yes. Well I would ask around and do your homework before potentially damaging paint. I can imagine that your are enjoying that, I use to daily drive my 1972 prior to letting it sit for a few years and then just as I got it back on the road last year…it was wrecked hard. So I am now working on getting it back on the road.

Yeah, I've never done anything like that so I don't want to go into it blind.

That's a beautiful C3 & a really nice color.

Thanks. It is great in pictures, but better in person. It looks great now, but I just began the frame on. So give it a few months and it will really be nice.

Have you found any local Vette buddies?

I haven't yet. I know one, The Heart of Texas Corvette Club who meet up at the Chevrolet dealership once a month. I'll have to check them out for sure.
