I do like that body style. An '81 would not have been my 1st choice, but it does look good. Being a 4 speed clinched the deal. There weren't too many yellow, 4-speeds built.
Now, I just need to get the performance up to par with the looks. Currently, it kind of drives like a truck. I'm sure there are things that can be done to take care of that. Simply insert $$$$$$$ and hold on.
Just need to create a priority list and chip away....
Hey Todd, My first was a 4 speed 81 also, come on down to C3 for info overload.
C3 is the 1st stop I made, even before I bought the car. I've been researching the areas where I know I need to work on:
1. Driver-side turn signals not operational (possible ground issue).
2. Differential noise (likely fluid change & need for posi fluid).
3. Drives like a truck......still working on that one.
4. I'll be looking into the exhaust & anti-polution bits next, as Washington does not require smog testing on cars older than 25 years.
It's pretty well stock & unmolested, which is one of the reasons I went ahead and bought it. This should be a good driver and can be refined as I move along.
