I'm new here, and I don't own a Corvette. I've wanted one since I was sitting in a used 1970 427 4 speed convertible I found on a car lot, but I did not take into consideration one problem -- head room!
I found out a few years later that I just don't fit in sports cars. But I've gotten the bug again, and I wanted to see if there was any way it could be done. Just for example, here I am a couple of weeks ago sitting in a friends 1982.
Yes, I need to lose weight, but that still won't change the height issue much. I understand c4's are even worse than c3's, but c5's might be possible. Is it possible?
Welcome aboard, just pull the seat out, you will fit just fine.
I actually thought about how much seat you really need, but none might be a little hard to handle!
I re-read my post, and I see I need to add to it and correct some impressions. I have tried out a c4 (really small, like I can't get my head into the door!), and a c5 (I can get in, but it's still tight!). I haven't tried a c6, but my understanding is they are a little smaller than the c5. I guess what I really want to know is if it's possible to modify or adjust a c5 so I can comfortably fit inside and drive for an extended period of time without requiring surgery afterward. I have seen some suggestions about changing the seat or changing the seat springs, and cutting into the headliner. Also, does the glass roof I've seen in pictures give you any additional room? I could possibly use that all the time, but my head might get fried in the Houston sun.
