Steve Alexander Groupie
I recently purchased a 65 L76 convertible with an M21 and non-matching engine. The engine is a 1967 327 block, with all the 1965 L76 bits tacked on.
~25 years ago the bank and I bought a '64 matching number coupe the week I graduated Cal Poly. I literally stopped at a used car lot where I saw the car while driving by, and bought it on the spot. I tore the car apart for a full rebuild, but chose to leave the body attached to the frame. In the end, I had a beautiful 64 coupe, that I proceeded to put ~50k miles on over the next 3 years. I drove the car from Santa Cruz, CA to Ottawa, Canada where life dictated I sell the car. Its the only car I've ever cried real tears when someone else drove it from my driveway for the last time. After the car vanished from site, I raised my fist to the heavens and swore I would buy another 'next summer'.
~20 summers later, I finally got around to full-filling that promise.
I plan to tear this car down to the frame and rebuild it as well. In fact, I ended up joining this site because of Steve Alexander's thread on rebuilding his 1965 coupe. I'm fairly certain all of us working on C2's owe that guy a bottomless beer. For my rebuild, I plan on replacing the 327 with an LS3, but aspire to approach the same level of craftsmanship Steve has.
Of course... I plan to drive the wheels off my new toy before taking it apart. Converting my barn to a shop with a lift is gonna take 3-4 months.
Glad to be here.

I miss my '65 coupe, and hope to one day get another one. Looking forward to seeing your build progress.
