Default New member needing help

I am a new member and want to be a owner but I am not sure what style to choose as my first car. My wife and I are in our 60's and I am not sure which model would be the easiest to get in and out of. IS there any recommendation on a specific models or years that were easier than others. Even if there is no difference I am still going to find one.

Model years starting in 1997 were much easier to get in/out of than previous years. Since 1997 the frame has been very similar and the in/out is also very similar as a result. The new model, we call it the C7 (seventh generation Corvette) is the same. It's low. They all are. I put my butt on the seat first, with both feet on the ground, then I put my feet in the car. Getting out just the opposite. Basically you have to fall into the car and climb up out of it. But it's well worth it, and it's very comfortable once you get in. You should stay away from the "Z51" and the "Z06" options because of the harder ride. Your best bet is the standard model, either coupe or convertible. Hope this helps.

Another question from central Nebraska, Found a car and it is a 2002. What is the best gas to use? I am sure e-10 would note be recommended but I could use your thoughts.

When I get a picture I will post it.

Corvettes like premium. My '72 runs on premium plus octane booster. I put premium fuels in my former 2001 only.

As far as getting in and out, convertibles are the easiest as there is no need for bending down to try and fit inside. All you have to do is just open the door, like mentioned above just set your butt on the seat and then slide the rest of you in until completely in.

There are plenty of CF members that are your age and older in every generation. So it really just comes down to which generation(s) you like and want. The C4-C7 are more modern and have better suspension, ride, and features. I am not saying that these are maintenance free, but they are a little easier for every day driving. So elderly or anyone that does not want to have to wrench on a car very often would "fit" better in a C4-C7. They get pretty good MPGs, and they are easier to drive. However, with that said each generation has something to offer that only can be found in that specific generation. C5's are great cars, I miss mine, but in my opinion (IMO), the classic Vettes are more fun to drive.

C1s: IMO the best generation for looks. No Power anything. Drum brakes. No factory AC. Fuel injection optional.

C2s: Great looks, better handling and suspension. Optional Power steering, windows, brakes, disc brakes, AC, heater. Fuel injection optional.

C3s: Best suspension and handling of the classic Vettes. All of the C2 stuff plus tilt wheel, depending on year...cruise control, etc. Fuel injection optional depending on year.

C4s:Better suspension than the C3, digital gauges, power seats, lots of power options, and features. Fuel injection standard for C4-C7.

C5s: Heads up display, better features, lots of power options, nice interior. Good performance.

C6s:Improved C5, better HUD, and features.

C7s: Best features, interior, and options. Most comfortable.

Hope this helps.

Welcome to the forum. C5 and up I think are easiest to get in and out of plus you can run regular if you have to.
