My name is BOB and I recently purchased a 1999 corvette convertible. I bought the car from the original owner and it has 41,560 miles on it. The original owner is a car collector and the vette was kept in a temperature controlled garage it's entire life. the car has never been driven in the rain. The car is truly showroom condition, I assume, its the controlled environment that kept the car in this condition. there is no discoloration of any aluminum or plastic parts I have been from one end to the other and have not been able to find any flaws, dirt or even dust. I have been an in the auto restoration and custom car business for over 40 years and this is the cleanest original car I have ever seen. The records show the car was serviced every 3,ooo miles since new, at the same dealer that sold the car. The car fax report is perfect with no issues ever.
Now I have put 700 miles on the car. the last time I drove it, I stopped at a red light and suddenly all of the gages red lined and it started showing check engine, low tire ,power reduction and so on. I tried the reset, but nothing worked. I pulled to the side and turned the car off, then restarted it and every thing was good. It did this several times and each time, turning it off then restarting worked.
the reason I talked so much about the condition of my car, is I have read everything that I have been able to find. I should tell you I am old and not very good with computers. I read that leaking original Delco batteries leaked onto the computer and wire harness. My car has the original battery, I removed it and like I mentioned before, battery, tray, computer and wire harness, were perfectly clean. no dirt or even dust in the area below the battery. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be grateful.
