'60 vette won't start
Hi all!
I'm a new member and need some help.
My vette was running fine until I sent the guages off to be checked out & repaired. Put everything back together and tried to start the engine to be sure they all worked properly and low & behold when I turned the key there was nothing - no grunt from the engine at all. The turn signals, headlights and interior light work fine - did not check everything else, was frustrated the starter would not even acknowledge it was being asked to do its job.
Checked to make sure ignition prongs were seated properly with the wire connectors - still nothing.
Checked the wiring on the ammeter - followed the AIM wiring diagram and have determined by this forum that the wires are backward - will reverse them later on today. Don't think that will have anything to do with it not starting - will it????
Only disconnected the wiring to the instrument cluster and the wiper motor - had that looked at & checked out - still waiting for its return.
Any and all HELP will gladly be appreciated. Thank you. Rick
