Greetings from Austin, TX
Hi Everyone,
I just joined this Forum as I have been looking for a "new" weekend driver and am being drawn into considering a Corvette for many reasons.
While growing up, I owned a 67 Mustang, 68 Chevelle SS396 (why did I sell it!?), '70 Super Bee, '71 GTO, etc... I recently sold my SL55 a year ago for a new truck but the "itch" has returned and so I am looking... :-)
Recently, I almost bought a 2006 C6 convertible but held off as I am thinking I want to look for a C2. As I grow older, I always remember that I have liked the looks of a C2 but am curious if I can fit in one (6'1" /225#). I know it may be difficult to find a good one but that is half the fun, right?
Anyway, I look forward to reading and learning from all of you!
David

Welcome from Tyler.
As a guy around your build, I fit in my '65 coupe, but I think that if I had a convertible, I would have fit better. I fit in my '72 just fine. Best of luck with the search!

If you've got loads of money then a C2 might be an option, they tend to go for major large $$$. If you HAD to sell your SL55 to buy your truck you may not be wealthy enough for a C2... especially if you are looking for desirable options like convertible, 4-speed, big block or fuel injection... but if you could afford an SL55 or a new truck you probably can afford a C5 or newer Vette...
The other downside besides size and price is that they generally will have few luxury amenities compared to what you'll find in a C5 or newer Vette. I don't have a lot of $$$, so I'm in the more budget friendly models... I've got a late C3 (1980) which is my weekend car and an early C4 (1984) which is my daily driver.
As for fitting in them, I'm 6' and 250+ and I can get in and out of my C3 and C4, although it takes a little effort (working on reducing the 250+ part which should help). The C2 models I've sat in or driven seemed easier to get in an out of than either of the two I have, the C3 being the snugger of the two. C5+ models are easier and roomier inside yet.
