Default intro into C4 vettes....

Whats up guys. Been wanting to get into the C4 vette community. Have been into the Fbody camaros for a while but would like to try something new.

I have my eye on a Black 1990 C4 6 speed. I have a seperate 355 stealth ram motor with different heads that i was going to put into the Camaro but if all things work out, ill swap it into the C4

Plans for the C4- Auto cross and cruising

Ive done some research as to what i would need to get started but would like some more tips and advice to some of the questions i have

- 1)I know the HSR does not fit under a stock C4 hood so what company right now manufactures a direct bolt on hood for under $1000? Im trying to keep cost low (arent we all lol ). ive seen companys like Toledo ACI and ACS but its seems a little pricey. Although they are gorgeous i dont need a show car just something decent to clear the intake.Or does anyone have a black cowl/hi-rise hood for sale?

I would like to stay away from modifying the HSR by making it shorter. I also do not want to add a scoop to the stock hood for example the Ram Air scoop

-2) Do i still need to modify the intake flex tube after if i were to put a cowl/hi-rise hood, would it be enough to clear with a 2 inch lift from the hood

-3)Since my engine is out of a 3rd Fbody camaro can i add the C4 pulleys to it to clear the steering rack? Can i directly swap it over or are the camaro and c4 blocks completely different?

-4)Without taking off the hood during a motor swap, which side off the car is the motor easiest to come out off? I have seen people favor the passenger side

-5) When pulling the stock TPI motor out ive seen the Happy Hooker being used. Can be used on the HSR to be lowered back in?

I would like to do this motor swap with as little fabrication and modifying as possible ( i realize there will always be modifying in a project) but if someone has tips or advice on stuffing this HSR engine into a C4 please let me know
Thanks in advanced for your time and advice
-Steven

Thanks Brandon. Nice color!

So now just curious being that I introduced myself but also had a tech question, with 138 views on this post and no one has responded to my questions and concerns ,should I put my questions on the C4 tech section?

Sorry about the lack of responses regarding your question. Yes I would personally post in the C4 section as they will give you more specific answers. I am some what knowledgable of C4-C7's, but am more of a C1-C3 guru, so I am not currently able to really help answer your questions.

Thank you, the color is the factory Ontario Orange.
