Default Been a lurker - first post, this is big

I was lucky enough to get a decent job coming out of college at the height of the recession but was teared to shreds and ultimately canned. Dusted myself off, talked my way into another firm and actually performed quite well for a couple years. So I figured I'd try my luck and got a high-paying contract at (arguably) the top accounting firm in the US/world. Finished the contract recently and turned down a full time offer to pursue hanging my own shingle. I always wanted to work for myself and lined up a couple clients, so here I am - learning how to be less of a bean counter and more of a marketeer (which I feel is more of my natural talent).

So after 4 years of working late nights and weekends, becoming nearsighted, giving up a year of my free time to study for and pass the CPA exam (that sucked...have you seen what girls my age look like?) and being a grunt on the bottom of the totem pole, I finally feel like I've got the reigns.

I've been driving my old BMW for 10 years and did some tweaks to it to break up the monotony. But when the new year hit, I felt it was time to add a sports car to the stable. I debated a used cayman, a used M3, or maybe even a used 997, but I've wanted the Corvette since I was a kid. Its highly capable without being pompous and expensive. The fact that I have to pull the roof off and and man-handle the shift **** makes me love this car. It looks like a fighter jet looking down on it from the back. And that engine...it sounds so angry. Every opinion about drivability says that its a car to respect and that it will push you to be a better driver on the track. If I can give my trust-fund counterparts who own exotics a run for their money, I'll be happy.

I was fortunate to pick up this GS from a very nice member on here. He and his wife have some good memories taking this car around, so there's definitely good juju with this car.

Here's a pic my GF snapped

Stopped by Laguna Seca when I took my GF to Monterey on our first trip (us and the car) - can't wait to actually do an HPDE.

Anyway folks, glad to be here
