1967 engine block casting date code
I found a '67 435hp for sale with correct engine casting code and matching engine stamp but no documentation. The engine block casting number shows J106 (October 10 1966) and the car was built in April 1967. Since this date code is six months prior to the assembly date is this still possibly an original engine to the car? I've looked everywhere for info on this but can't seem to find how long GM may have cast blocks prior to assembly. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
