'72 for a '90.
My motivation in buying it was... I've wanted one since I can remember, honestly. It's hard to resist a shark, and that old v8 grunt!
Now, I'm unsure as where to go next. The vehicle is in relatively good shape all things considered. I need to do the timing on the engine. I just adjust the carb(it was running pretty rich from what I could tell, it was dieseling on shutoff). I'm slowly tracing down parts I need to replace and/or possibly fabricate myself.
However, the one thing I'm lost on is... paint. The body seems pretty solid, I've gone over each panel and there seems to be no damage from what the paint was telling me, just cracks and chips. I'd like to get a paint job, but from what I've heard(since lurking for a few months), is that Maaco and the like are low quality and often makes more problems than what it's worth. So, suggestions would be worthwhile! (I'm in the Tacoma area of Washington state.)
As far as goals for this car...
- L88 Hood (think it really is a nice aesthetic touch. May make the air chamber functional, unsure at this point.)
- Paint job (paint is good, paint is great!)
- Interior restoration (some of it is tired, some of it is broken, some of it was modified into something less tasteful in my opinion.)
- 454 swap (Full engine bay, woo!)
- 5/6 speed manual transmission* (Because what fun is a car if you're only pointing it?)
Those are what I'd like to do with the car. I'm in the process of making it as reliable as possible. I'm not looking for a stock car(as you can see by the above bullets), just so that's out in the open. The car will only be seeing street use, and the occasional spirited driving.
So, any questions and/or tips, advice... would be well received.
Thank you for receiving me into your fold, ladies and gents.

Post some pictures when you can please!
I have been at work since before noon and just got off, so I am tired. But are you referring to yourself as a "1990 model?"
And yes, I'm the 1990. Not much of a model, but I'm still going.
Little video from my phone, almost forgot about that one!
