New C3 guy from Lancaster County,Pa. First time owner of a 1968 Corvette
Hey all,
I have been in love with corvettes since I first laid eyes on one in the late 60's. Something always got in the way of me buying one, work,life,children.....well 23 minutes ago I turned 50 years old. My wife took me to a nice dinner with friends last night, and then after dinner surprised me with a Beautiful Yellow 1968 Corvette 327ci 300hp all original(numbers match)!!!!
When I was in my late teens early 20's, I always looked at these old guys(40's & up) driving these wonderful cars, and would think "that old guy cannot possibly appreciate what he's even driving, that car is just wasted on him".... now I am that old guy driving the awesome car, and to all you younger guys that think I cannot possibly appreciate it, I can only say, you have no idea how much I love and appreciate this car. I've had many opportunities to buy a car like this, but I always did the right and practical thing and bought the SUV to haul around the children, or paid down the mortgage on the house, or invested in rental properties to prepare for my children's college/future. So this car will not be wasted on me!!! I will have a giant smile on my face every time I pull it out of the garage, I will baby it, but I will also drive it, I will run it fast when I can, and I will cruise around just listening to it puuuuur,,,,,and love every minute of it.

Congrats! Great story! I always looked at the 'vettes and other sexy sports cars and saw gray haired middle aged or older men and thought..HMMPH..I'm going to be a hot chick driving one..and soon! Ha!
