Just made the trade from the Harley world to the Corvette world. I want my toys to have air conditioning as I make the rapid climb into middle age and beyond.

I picked up a 1981 with the 4 speed from a "collector of things". It was last registered in 2012 and has been mostly sitting in a shed since then. He had done the basic maintenance, so an oil change and a battery later its sitting in my driveway waiting for me to throw money at it.

Very nice indeed. I hope it brings you many miles of enjoyment.

I do like the C3, though the C6 is my favorite.

I think the c3's take me back to childhood. I was born in 1960, so.... Also, they happen to be the ones I can afford, so I got that going for me.

Thanks for the welcomes. This is my first Corvette, and budgets are in the mix. I am not a mechanic, but I can remove and replace (usually) fairly well. I'll do everything I can myself, as a learning experience and a confidence booster. Thankfully it appears to be bone stock, wiring and all.

Thanks. Tomorrow I will change all the fluids and closely check the radiator hoses, belts, etc. Till winter I have about 3 days a month that I have time to play, so its a long term project.
