Default 1968 Corvette Convertible... Resurrection

New to forum, long time enthusiast, first Vette.... Built a '75 Camaro / Z28 clone, but was lifetime ago....
Project car to spend time with my boys...

Multiple owners, one previous passed from cancer, probably great guy, just maybe not the most mechanically inclined.
Hope the car and working on it gave him solitude and joy during his journey.
Didn't run when purchased, running now, main objective: safe vehicle
Have had two different professional mechanics give once over.

The good...
'68 Vette Convertible
Sweet LOOKING ride...
45K original miles
Original 427 / 4 speed, now 454, same tranny. Friend may know of original 427... Well see.
454 is GenVI with roller cam and lifters / headers
Interior looks good, is black, original blue... Looks to be painted?
New calipers, lines, ball joints and some u-joints

The bad...
Wiring and vacuum issues. Someone hacked interior wiring up with splices (a!arm installation)
Headlights don't work, buckets don't come up
Interior lights / dash lights don't work.
Windshield wiper cowl and wipers don't work.
One vacuum override switch, pull it and the cowl comes up and headlights blink...😒
Missing parts / incorrect parts
Distributor / timing issues.... Think I need new distributor

The ugly...
Believe car was hit front and possibly rear, not bad, but some body lines tell story of partial bad face lift... Or at least something happened
On the fence with no power brakes / steering

Overall, solid car, just like all of us with some miles under your belt. Good project for time with triplet boys.

Thanks. Has been good, challenging at times, with sourcing correct information, but good.
