My name is Dan and I'm in the Hartford County region of Connecitcut. I'm 29 and finishing my last year in Mechanical Engineering, with a concentration in aerospace (my second degree, because... well... early mid-life crisis). I am getting married in May of 2016, the week after graduation. I've technically been a member here for 8 or so years, but not active for all but a month of that. When I'm not driving or brewing beer, I'm usually doing homework or studying.
A bit about my fiance: she doesn't know anything about cars, but slowly but surely she's learning about Corvettes. Just this past summer I taught her how to identify by generation. Her favorites are C1's in black.
My Dad bought a 1973 metallic burnt orange Stingray in July of 1973. He put 63000 miles on it, but at some point it sat in the garage. It only ran for two months in my high school years, then back into the garage it went. My father passed away March 25th, 2015 of complications due to ALS and cancer was just about everywhere.
His Corvette went through to mom after a number of months, and then her and my brother and sister decided I should have it. I guess they must like me. Mom put 7 thousand into it and a month later (November 4th, 2015) I drove her home from the Mechanic, my fiance literally praying in the passenger seat. I had previously no experience with a manual transmission.
Well a long, bitter-sweet story short, I'm the proud owner of my dream car. She still needs work, but I'm looking forward to spending time learning how to do repairs and saving money for inevitable costly fixes. I hope to use this forum as a resource until I learn enough and can start sharing my knowledge and experience.
Glad to be part of the wonderful clan of Vette owners.
A special thanks to my Dad, Dave, for his exceptional taste in transportation and his patience in raising me.
Cheers,
Dan

Well yours is beautiful! and the color looks almost identical- yours may be a little more "metallic" (coppery). There will be pictures, but for now they are just on my stupid "dumb phone".
My desire to have Corvettes was a big part of earning an engineering degree for me. I ended up in composites partly due to my experience in fixing Vette bodies.
Welcome!

Here are some better pictures.
Ontario Orange is a pretty interesting color as it changes with light.
