The proper thing to do when buying a first Corvette is to take along a veteran Corvette owner. Like you, I went alone, although I did not commit the penultimate Corvette sin - buying the first one you try out. If you did that one, you might want to keep that to yourself.
One of the things I found after purchase (like you), was a broken sun visor. It was the passenger one. The mirror was missing. But like you, I am as pleased as punch with my over-50 purchase. Took Margaret to my sister's place a couple of hundred miles away and the 'vette did fine.
