Hello everyone! First time owner here of an 05 Z51, lemans blue with cashmere interior. I'm coming from an 03 GTI 20th jazz blue and I think I made the right choice.
I've been researching and test driving cars since December in this order. Mustangs, 996 911's, Challengers & Chargers, GTI's, Caymans and finally Corvettes. I enjoy driving my cars so this was a big decision for me. I was also looking for something I could track on the weekend. My wife thinks I'm slightly on the crazy side but thankfully she enjoys it too! It didn't take me long to rule out the Mustangs, honestly. My dad is a huge Mopar fan so the Charger was for curiosity. The Challenger was fun - although needed more refinement for me. The GTI felt just like my 03, only tremendously better. I was still yearning for more power though. The driving experience in a Cayman is amazing, I loved it. The Cayman and 911's left me uneasy with the possible engine issues regarding IMS bearings (not to mention I don't fit comfortably in a Cayman at 6'3"). I hopped in a Corvette and instantly fell in love. Being in KY you would think there would be an abundance of these cars but I honestly don't see very many in my area. So no chance of a friend introducing me to one! The suspension and handling were exactly what I was looking for. Tight and firm, holds its place on the road, great power and is predictable and confident (when responsible). Added bonus, it's comfortable!!
Anyways! I'm looking forward to many enjoyable drives in this car. Possible mods in the future as it seems many have done so as well.
Needs a detail. And if you look closely, there is a disturbing sight.
