Vette Noob

Good Afternoon!!

My name is Trevor, and i recently just acquired an 82 corvette from my father inlaw. Ive always admired vettes but now im a proud owner. The vette sorta has a dismal story behind it with i guess you can say "a happy ending." The family he got the car from had the car from when it was new in 82. Bout a year after they had bought the car it got stolen and was never recovered. 10 or so years have passed with no thought of it ever coming back. They had gotten call saying that police have located the vette in a warehouse in upstate NY. So by now of course they get the car back and its in shambles, parts missing, cracked fiberglass from what is believed and looked like from a tow truck ****** and grab effort, to damn near every harness being cut at its connectors. So there the car sits for many years outside unable to run, until my father inlaw came around to do some concrete work. So my father inlaw being a mason provided the services to them. As the time went on the family grew on hard times and wasnt able to pay for the services rendered and offered the car as collateral. He scooped it up. So by now hes been playing with it and got the car running as well as getting the accessories working.....then yet again the car sits. One day i believe it was Thanksgiving the old lady and i went over to the house for dinner and on the table for when we arrived was the title and all his resources for finding parts for the car. At this time he proceeds to give me the car. I didnt wanna just take it but he insisted that i have it. Im so grateful to have people like him in my life. Now that its in my possession i got the car running and slowly working at getting everything back in order from the years of neglect. So this is where i end up soaking up all the info on this and many other sites about this car.
