Ohio C7 Shopper
I have been a car enthusiast and 2007 Miata owner for some time. Unfortunately the Miata doesn't have enough go-fast to deliver on thrills anymore and potential upgrades were looking bleak: I don't want the cost/issues associated with an engine swap and while the next gen 2015+ Miata is pretty I don't think they will ever come out with a MazdaSpeed version (or many colors besides shades of grey). I had previously written off Corvettes due to their size, old man stigma, etc, but I rented one a few weeks ago on vacation and was pleasantly surprised.
I am a recent convert and while I may learn to love all Corvettes in time, I currently find the previous modern generations to look boring at best (C5-C6). The C7 is definitely an exception in this regard and I am also pleased to report that I found it to be exhilarating performance wise and not overly large . As I meet other Corvette owners that may debunk or reinforce the old man stigma... Anyways, I will continue to research the C7 on this site and look for a used Vette that meets my requirements (convertible, M7, Z51, 2LT+). I have not ruled out new, but it is probably the most financially responsible to buy used and it will reduce the cost of the learning curve. Also, it looks like owning one will get me a rebate when I upgrade to new?
I drive kind of spirited and everyone dominating me in the BRZ made me sad. A mini-van mom could take you down with a full load of kids. The C7 is closer to the top of the acceleration food chain.
