For years, I have been an old British car guy, but I had an opportunity to buy a 1978 Corvette at a price I could afford, and I jumped right in. It is in pretty good mechanical condition but I know that it needs tires, a water pump and has some little electrical problems that need to be sorted out. I first saw the car several months ago when the owner, a friend, asked for help getting it started after a lengthy period of being parked. We found the full length of the air intake packed with mouse nest, and once removed, it roared to life. Then, we discovered that there were no brakes. They were repaired before I bought the car, and I was able to drive it home. So the fun begins. . .
