Greetings all,
My Name is Joel and I'm an Alcoho - ... Errrrr Wait wrong speech...... My Bad...
The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Errrrrr Wait... No still the wrong speech...
Sigh....
OK - My Name really is Joel... I have a love of cars, motorcycles, beer, computers, and well you know.... I Have a few websites not the least of which is a beer drinking website that I will not post as of yet as I do not want people to think I'm a self promoting pig...
MY Father was not a Boulangerie owner he was in fact an Electrical systems engineer. Before my parents were divorced after my birth they used to Rally Race across and all over Long Island in the 60's...
My Mother would drive because she could not read a map and hence my Mother taught me the art of speed shifting as well as tight cornering. At 78 years old she can still be a bit of a speed demon. My Dad took me to See Smokey and the Bandit in 1977 and as soon as we left the theater we went to a Pontiac dealership where he purchased a Trans Am with a big block 403ci motor and WS6 handling package. It was on that car I learned to spin a wrench as a novice and I was allowed to drive it when I was 12 in 1985 when he traded it in for a truck...
MY Love of Motorcycle came late in my life as an early mid-life purchase just after my first child was born. I wanted one in high school but mom said "You will not have a motorcycle living under my roof." and then When I got married and gas went to 4 dollars a gallon my wife relented. I bought the exact motorcycle I wanted in high school: A 1985 Honda Vf700 Interceptor that I rode for many years. I then Upgraded to a 2002 VFR...
My Wife like My mother has "Zero" interest in Motorcycles.. And I kind of like my wife regardless of this fact... Plus Riding a Motorcycle in today's day and age of distracted drivers has had quite a few close calls for me. Ironically my wife has told me to NOT sell the bike but I explained to her my Maniacally/diabolical plan.
I will sell my Motorcycle and put it towards a cool car that I wanted in High School. The "Unobtanium" of cars from my youth... The C4 Corvette...
Hence I'm on the hunt and I stumbled on this site looking for buying tips that this site has "A-plenty" and they are indeed very good tips.. Hence I figured it could'na hurt to join the forums... Hence here I am...
SO I will humbly Lurk/Stalk and possibly ask a few noob'ish questions as I get them...
