I'm a "new to corvettes" old guy too. Just joined this forum as well, seems like a really good resource. This is going to be fun my friend, we earned it.
Thanks Bob. Yes I think it will be a great deal of fun. Good luck!
Welcome to you both. Many of us had to go that route and can only later on manage the shift in priorities. I got my first 10 years ago at 55.
Your going to find that corvettes all come with this cool feature called "perma-grin" It automatically turns on whenever you see your car.
Also remember this; corvettes were designed and manufactured to be driven. The more you drive the car the more the car likes it.
Thanks Mr Peabody. I've already discovered that new "perma-grin" feature. It happens every time I look at it. I've never enjoyed running errands so much!
George and Jana Lynn. Started with me, age 71, and my purchase of a 91 ZR1 in October. #0591 , and then my wife's 90 ZR1 # 0788 . The 91 is red on black, stock with 12.5k and hers is metallic red on tan, with 75k. The 90 was a one owner from CA., purchase last year in Michigan and then sold to me for my wife. My 91 had been owned by two different collectors. Both have the original wheels and the 90 has a set of aftermarkets as well.. I love these things. I can see in the future perhaps a couple more. Maybe a yellow/tan and a Polo green/tan. And maybe a black rose. Picking up memorabilia to hang in the garage, got a set of gears for the headlights and a NOS starter. Now looking for a few other items that might be hard to find when you need them most.
Really like the forum aspect and the wealth of knowledge here. I also picked up a really nice snap on diagnostic scanner with the correct module.
Oh and I pulled the original tires from the 91 and put on a set of Nitto 555. Will post pictures once I figure out that process.
