Hi everyone! I just bought my first Corvette about a month ago! It's a 2008 Z06 with 14k miles. I got a great deal on it in El Paso, TX. After eight years between a first and second gen CTS-V it was time for a sports car. So far the car has been great but I'm trying to track down the previous owner because I have some questions. The car has a K&N intake, an Aviaid scavenging pump, stainless brake lines, track pads that squeal like a stuck pig, tow hooks front and rear, a nice wide aluminum gas pedal for heel-toe downshifting, and a decal for a 2edge performance shop out of Southern California on the panel over the radiator. Based on the info in the nav the car was in Newport Beach, CA and was clearly somebody's track toy. That's fine and dandy because I plan on doing the same things with it but I'm trying find out what else may be done to the car. It has the mounting plates and holes in the carpet for a roll bar but I don't know which one so I can put one back in, and the throttle response feels like the car has been dyno tuned. If anybody can help I would greatly appreciate it! I'm already loving the camaraderie of the Corvette community and look forward to years of fun filled ownership!
This is the shop sticker I was referring to. The VIN Stalking the Brigade physician's Lotus The day I bought it Already tore it apart to install a mesh grille! Already ran it at the track. Trapped the same speed as my 2009 CTS-V that had a pulley, intake, ZL1 lid, HX, and tune. I need to learn to launch this thing!
Welcome to the forum Did you try contacting 2 edge? That would be my first thought And if you need new pads for street and track I will be happy to help you out with some Carbotech pads. All Carbotech pads are compatible so, all you need to do is swap pads for street and track no re bedding no nothing use the same rotors just swap pads and go..
I tried contacting the shop, but apparently they aren't in business anymore. Their website is down and the only mentions of them on any forums are on the camaro5 forum from about five years ago. I'll definitely keep you in mind when it's time to swap pads. These are loud but they have plenty of life left in them. My main focus is figuring out what roll bar was installed in this thing so I can find a replacement... I tried a few forum searches but haven't found any hints of the last owner yet...
Not sure if you went to a GM dealer and asked for them to print or request service records from the VIN or have someone do a title search and may provide prior registers owners who may share info if contacted... I would Google the GM dealers within 5-10 miles of that closed tuner. Most likely someone in NB or HB knows something about the car.
Good Luck.

I tried the dealer route as well as carfax, autocheck, and getting a complete vehicle build sheet and history from a GM employee via one of the Facebook groups and no luck so far. I'll try scouring the California section to see what I find. I must admit I'm impressed with the community and how helpful everyone is! We had it in the CTS-V world but not nearly on this level! The car is fantastic. I'm having a lot of fun and I'm certainly getting back a lot of the excitement that I had lost with so many years of driving Cadillacs lol
