This is the first Corvette for me . I actually never thought I'd actually buy one and , being my first I wanted something in my budget but hopefully in good shape. It's a pewter 98 with 138K and runs like a top but also looks great too. All of this got started because myself and a friend both own Corvairs . Yeah , yeah I know what some might be thinking but , although rather slow they're great driving cars . Anyway , he'd always wanted a Porsche and picked up a Boxster pretty cheap. This is what got the ball rolling for me because I wasn't really looking. I had been wanting something more modern as well ,though, and started looking at them . After much reading and looking I decided against a Porsche at all and knew I could get a good old American Vette for roughly the same price and age range without all of the reliability headaches of a german car. I found this car down near Tampa and the owner has been a lifelong NCRS member owning currently over ten Corvettes . Now that I have it , it's still kind of surreal every time I even start it let alone drive it . I did a quick speed run last night and it pulled hard up to 110 and was still going . I think even this older C5 is pretty damned amazing and everything works on it . I've been looking for a key fob and am kind of puzzled about why they are hard to find for my year range of 97-01 . I got online looking for information and found corvetteforum.com to be very active and a great source for information so I joined . I'll try to put up a few pics later .
