New 79 C3 owner
I recently purchased a 79 C3. The car needs a lot of TLC. Excited to get to work on the restoration project. Looking forward to exploring the forums and getting input from other C3 owners.

305 in a 1979
So my 79 has a 305 in it! Found out my 79 was built in dec of 79. from what I've been reading they didn't put 305s in the corvettes until 1980. Could they have put them in 79s as well since it was built in the last month of the year?

Nothing that I have seen shows a '79 came with a 305 engine - they have all been 350's. You are right that in 1980, cars sold in CA had the 305's due to stiffer emission standards there.
You might want to post your info in the C3 General section and see what the owners there have to say. You'll probably get much better responses there than in the Intros section.
