Hello all ! Im new to the forum, but on my third corvette. I currently own a 73 L48, 350 4 speed car. A little history on the car, I purchased the car for a friend originally in 2006. He didn't have an ebay account so I did the bidding and won it for him. After 10 years of him restoring the car, he ran into a rusty frame issue he couldn't justify fixing. The car had a very nice paint job put on it, all new suspension upgrades, rebuilt rear suspension, rearend, new front suspension, shocks, new tires, brakes, brake lines, fuel lines and fuel tank. It also had a fairy built 383 with aluminum heads and solid roller cam. A new interior was also done..., so when he told me it needed frame work, I decided I was up for the challenge. After removing the body, I found the frame was in pretty sorry shape so I pulled it completely apart and trashed the rusty frame, I found a very nice rust free frame from down south and I am currently putting the car back together. Along the way I decided to tear the engine down and have a look. It ran decent yet, but seemed abit to radical for a daily driver. So I had a new 383 put together, steel crank, 6 inch rods, forged pitons, went back to the correct 73 vette steel heads but squeezed in 2:05 intake valves and some minor port work. Im running a bullet hydraulic roller cam. It should make around 425 hp and lots of torque. It has the Muncie 4 speed, and currently has a 3:08 rear differential gear but Id like to find a complete 3:55 diff, or possibly a 3:70. The rear end it has now is very clean and I have the receipts for a rebuild it had done back around 2005. Id like to find someone who possibly has one in very good condition that wants to swap for a 3:08, but I don't want to have to rebuild one. If anyone knows of one, or has one to sell reasonably, hit me up ! I hope to have the car back together by late spring this year 2017.
