Hey all, I've been lurking on the forum for a while now reading up on all things C5, but now I'm starting to get serious about buying so I created an account. You'll probably find me looking for an expert to check out a C5 that I'm thinking about south of the Twin Cities. I'll start a thread over in the Great Lakes forum for that.

Anyway, been a fan of Corvettes since I was about 3 and am excited that the depreciation curve and my income have finally intersected. Also excited that I actually fit in a C5 - I'm 6'5" and when I drove a C7 at one of those "drive a sports car on a track for a few laps" places I didn't fit so well (although I've since learned a few tricks from the forum that might have helped). I also like pop-up headlights so that works out well.

Glad to be here and hopefully I'll be joining the owners club soon!

Welcome to the forum! If you ask me C5's are bargains for all the car you get. Read the stickies in the C5 section and learn how to pull the codes, a C5 exclusive!

See you in the C5 section and happy hunting!

Yeah, I have to admit I kind of started looking at them just because my childhood dream car was "yellow with pop-up headlights", but the more I looked the more I realized they're just fantastic cars all the way around.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that my brother just moved about half an hour from Road America, so I have free lodging if I go over for a track day.

I better be careful. It looks like your childhood dream car is in my garage!

If it's a manual with a telescopic steering wheel (adult me has added a few things to the wish list) then it looks like it. Fortunately there's one closer to home that I think ticks all the boxes too, so you're safe for now.
