Figured since I've been Googling C5 how to(s) and being led here for the past month that I would sign up! Just bought my first Corvette this past Wednesday! A 99 C5 in Light Pewter Metallic. Currently has 85k on the clock and I am the second owner. The car was very well cared for and dealership maintained most of it's life. Appears to have all the great options from the factory BUT the 6 disc CD changer. The car came into my life after selling my supercharged NC (3rd generation) Miata. The C5 has always been my favorite Corvette and since I'm all for the crossroads of bang and buck, it was time to get one. I will admit, I am a Ford guy. I have a Ford Focus ST as a daily and this is my first Chevy. I honestly can't stand Chevrolet but I've always respected the LS motor (Hell, they put them in Miatas and other cars as everyone knows). Maybe this car will change my mind
I am hoping to get great advice and look forward to researching the C5 more and more.
As for mods, I don't plan on doing much to this car. It definitely needs to be louder! I am very happy with the Z51 suspension so don't really plan on doing much in the handling department. Maybe an intake, full exhaust, a tune, and be done.
As for issues, the horn does not work. I haven't got around to checking all the fuses just yet but I'm almost willing to bet it's the membrane in the steering wheel. My RPM tachometer is not working, on the HUD as well. Looks like I'll be pulling out the cluster and checking for a loose connector.

Pewter is a great color on the C5 - I had a '00 in that color for 7.5 years. The C5 is a fun car - hope you enjoy the heck out of yours and welcome to the forum.
