As the title says, this is my first Corvette... my previous muscle cars have all been Pontiacs ('65 GTO, '68 GTO, '68 Firebird 400). Looking forward to learning about Corvettes in general and C3's in particular.

Just picked up this 1979 L-82 4-speed. It's no show car (the paint is 15 years old), but it is strong mechanically. It's a solid "ten footer", lol!

I also had a blue 79, bought it brand new. Really enjoyed it, L-82 car with glass roof panels and spoiler but they were so underpowered mad me somewhat sad. Traded it in a new 81 two tone sliver and blue - also nice car. I am so happy with my new 17 GS vert - wonderful ride and power is better than I expected stock - thinking about perf mods already!
However seeing your 79 brings back wonderful memories.

Glad to bring back fond memories, Texavfan. Concerning the L-82, the guy I bought it from did not know if it has a matching numbers motor or what mods were made to the motor as they were done by an owner previous to him. This motor will definitely put you back in your seat, but I have no idea how that compares to a stock L-82. One of the big reasons I joined, is that hopefully, the very knowledgeable people on this site can help me figure out what I've got under the hood. Here's a picture of the motor...

Cool license!
Also, like your Warthog! Many years ago I was with the TTS at DM for several of the early classes of A-10 drivers. Perhaps we crossed paths?

Thanks, Route99!

As for the A-10, I’m just a huge fan of the Warthog, I was not in the Air Force.

I got some new engine bling, a new intake manifold, new distributor, new wires, new plugs. other stuff. Got rid of the dangerous glass fuel filter and the fuel line running over top of the header. It looks soooo much better now.
