am looking to buy a used cvette and was wondering are there any year models, mechanical anamolies etc. that i need to be aware of and shy away from? am new to cvettes. and don't know what to look for. will have about 20 g to spend (hopefully for a z06 coupe). also if i went with a base model, are the manual trans. models more desirable/dependable than autos. any and all help is appreciated.......thanks in advance

Welcome, but you're going to get more detailed answers to your questions by (1) reading the stickies in the applicable General Sections of the forum and (2) posting your questions in those sections. For $20K, you should be able to get a very nice C5, even a C5 Z06 if you are patient.
