I am a long time gearhead, speed freak, and adrenaline junkie. For the past 30 years I have fed my addiction through motorcycles; building them, modding them, and racing them. I actually won the CCS northeast championship in 2015 for Unlimited Grand Prix at the ripe old age of 45.
This was me

I do all my own fabrication, engine work, and tuning. I've made my share of carbon fiber parts, etc. My friends lovingly refer to me as the mad scientist.
It was my plan to continue to race until old age put an end to it however a nice old lady decided to turn left into me recently leaving me with 2 badly broken wrists and useless hands. Two surgeries down and at least 2 more to go will get me some of my utility back however I know that my body will simply not be able to withstand the g-forces required for racing or even riding ever again.
In the blink of an eye i lost my career, my income, and even my hopes and dreams; my future.
So, as a means of therapy I need to keep myself busy and what better way than tinkering? I have always had a love for the c3 vettes and am no stranger to cars as I built up a 68 Camaro back in my teens.
For now, the plan is to find a decent c3 that i can afford and work on it with my 2 teenage boys (since i cant even hold a wrench currently); i direct, they do the labor.
Hopefully in time I will be able to lend a hand ...or at least type; this took me 25 minutes.

Thanks for having me here and for the wealth of information on this site.
Michael

Sorry about your accident and although you have a long way to go for full recovery, at least you're still "here" and with your family. Sounds like you'll be a great tutor for your sons; I imagine they will learn a lot.
Please post some pics of your C3 once you find the right one.
