First Time Owner - Ohio
Ever since I was just a little kid I've been enamored with these cars. My dad works in the auto industry and brought home a '91 owner’s VHS that I would watch repeatedly. My mom claims that I would explain to her how various components of the car worked after a viewing (ABS was apparently a popular topic). I would have been 4 at the time lol.
Flash forward only a few years and I refused a trip to Chuck E’ Cheese because “I only ride in Corvettes”. What six year old passes on Chuck E’ Cheese for that reason??
I was lucky enough to have my dad bring home several Vettes as I grew up (and beyond). A ’96 CE, an ’04, 2011, and 2012. I had the pleasure of driving all but the ’96. I’ve tried stick and auto. In the past 5 years I have daydreamed about the day I finally owned one myself. It was a dream I seriously gave up on 2 years ago when I almost settled on a Sky. I still like the Sky, but I’d never confuse it with a Corvette.
After years of careful planning, praying, and saving, I achieved what has truly been a lifelong dream when I purchased a 2010 Coupe. Reading the forums over the past year during my legitimate search for the right car leaves no doubt that I’d be hard pressed to find a better group of car owners, and the vehicle I purchased confirms it. The car is absolutely beautiful, and I just know it was well maintained by its previous owner. I am happy to join that fellowship.
I watched that 1991 video again after I bought the car, and it declares “Just about everybody dreams that someday they’ll own a Corvette…”
