Hi all,
I just typed a whole intro and managed to lose it? When I hit post the site said I was not logged in? I didn't think I could get here without being logged in. Does this thing time out if you are a slow at typing?
Any way If I double post I am sorry.
I am a retired auto tech/shop owner. Did a lot of restoration work on cars and Harleys. I have a 47 Ford coupe with a pumped 51 Merc flat motor backed by a 5sp and a nine inch diff. Two old Harleys, and some other toys. It's the same old story, I have wanted a C1 since High school. A buddy had a 62 327 4spd hardtop that I helped to get going and got to use and thrash quite a bit. I wanted one ever since and just watched them get further and further away price wise. I figured I better try to buy one before I kick. I hunted and hunted and finally scored a red/white cove 60 out of detroit from a dealer. NOM, 350, Muncie, disc brakes. Had it checked by an appraiser and long story short I think the frame is a little soft, but the body is pretty cherry, the seams all look factory or as good, no visible patches, paint looks good, interior is there but tired, gauges and lights all work. he said it ran strong and was as tight and rattle/squeak free as any he had driven. Trans felt great, brakes great. he liked it. It has a good soft top, I have a hard top for a 59/60 already...go figure. So I pulled the trigger. If I have to do a frame later I can do it. I got them down from over 50k to 40k and don't think I'll find another I can afford and drive. It is pretty. I'll load a picture or two if this post will let me. I was attempting to do that when I lost the original post. Any guesses where it went? Look at the pictures if they work and tell me I am not crazy at this price. I don't even have it yet, it shows up Saturday and I am excited!!!
