BMW turned GM

BMW turned GM
I've lurked, now I join. Thanks for all the great info over the last year as I've transition from BMW to GM for my time trials car, and now know the joy of the C5. Since purchasing my cherry '99 C5 coupe with 72K miles for $14K last year, I've learned so much. While the C5 wants to be beaten, the BMW seemed to take it personally. I've done my own track modifications to the extent I never would have dreamed in a BMW. I feel like I can replace an LS1 in a weekend. This car inspires confidence, and sucks your bank account dry with all the available mods. I still have friends of my age group (mid 40s) that think the C5 is a pig, better off with an E36 M3 or an RX8. They've never felt the LS1 at WOT with sticky tires and stiffened suspension. The smiles last for days.
The C5 is full racecar now, off the street (no cats, airbags, etc.). I rum with COM, and mix in SCCA nights and a couple other solo days where I can. Interested in hearing about opportunities to test the car and my skills.

Ok, pictures. Just got her down from the lift after replacing most of the suspension bushings and connectors, and she's at SMG Motoring today to get a tune. I unloaded from the trailer and drove across the lot to the shop and now know what a really bad alignment feel like! That's next on the list. Nice to wash the dust and grease off, still too much snow on the ground! Shown here with beater wheels and street tires.
Here at the track last fall with Z06 wheels, 315 square.
