New C4 Owner
Already got some input from the C4 subforum, but now that I actually have a Vette, I figured it's time for an (late)intro! Just got a 1996 C4 today! Has 78k miles on it. Get to pick it up tommorow evening, and I can't wait! Only two so-so pics of it, but more will follow soon.
Car has been well maintained and cared for. Only problem is an oil leak, which I'm fairly certain is courtesy of the intake manifold gasket. I'll try torquing it down first, before taking it all apart. Doesn't have too many options on it, but that's ok. Originally had ride select, but the PO removed it all, sadly. Also has the "premium" audio, though I've never heard anything from Bose that even remotely qualified as such. The one option it does have that I really like, is the performance axle ratio, which is something I really wanted.
To top it off, the car has an interesting story to go with it, though it's a bit somber. The first owner passed, and his friend, the second owner, bought it from his wife after he passed, as it was his friends, and he always wanted a Corvette. Explains why this car was so well maintained. He traded it in not long ago for a newer Corvette, though the sale person couldn't remember which generation he went for. Pretty neat, as now me, the third owner, plans on taking very good care of it!
I can't believe I finally have one of my dream cars at last! Hard to believe I was only 14 when this car came to be, and I loved the 90's C4 even back then, and now I own one.
