New Member Greeting
I have been reading the forum for several years, but have never felt the need to post. Now, I would like to be more active.
Have owned three Corvettes, the latest being a C5. My first was a 62 "fuelly" in 1963. But I was only 19 and didn't have the financial wisdom to not buy what I couldn't afford. My second was a 67 coupe I bought in 1973 with all the factory luxury options. I held on to that one longer, about three years, but could never get it to run right. Later I learned the problem was heat soak causing the fuel bowls to bubble up and leak down to the rear spark plugs, thereby fouling them. All I had to do was lower the float level slightly and I would have been good to go. But, I nor any of the experts I consulted at the time, could figure it out.
My C5, a loaded 2002 coupe, has been very good and reliable. I was lucky to buy it from a friend who bought it new, and specified exactly what I would have wanted if I could have purchased a new one at the time. He put 12k miles on it in 6 years. I now have 130k miles on it. No major problems so far. Needless to say, it has been a daily driver, and I also enjoy long distance endurance driving. I know I will eventually need to think about replacing it, but I like it so much, I am in no hurry.
I am happy to join my fellow enthusiasts,
Vic

Kutman, you should start your own thread for an intro and if you want an answer to your question, post it in the C5 section. Good luck.
Nevertheless; congrats, welcome aboard and enjoy the ride!

Thank you for driving your Vette! They are meant to be enjoyed.
Welcome, also, to the forum, Kutman! Hopefully others will catch that your intro got tied in with AbqVic's.
You'll get numerous suggestions on the best exhaust to use to enhance the sound of your C5. We each have our own idea of the sound that is best for us. Part of the suggestion would also center around how you use your Vette. Some exhausts will sound good "throaty" around town, but will produce a drone when cruising any distance on the highway. Of course, the costs will also be all over the place.
We have the BBE (Billy Boat Exhaust) PRT on our C5 and love it. It's a blend of exhaust sounds in my opinion. I describe ours as having a nice, authoritative sound at start up and idle, but a very mellow sound when cruising with no drone. My wife and I carry on a conversation with no problems cruising at 75, and yet if you get on it, you can definitely hear it! Best of both worlds for us. Several forum vendors offer the BBE exhausts as well as those from other manufacturers, too. Good luck with your quest.
