Hey from Iowa!

Iv always wanted a 350 5 speed toy and recently found a 87 for sale so I figured I might try and get some feed back from experienced vette owners about it.
Cheers!

Why? Could be legit, probably is, but something just tells me to look elsewhere.

A few suggestions for you:
1. Post your request for information in the C4 section of the forum for more insight from very talented members there. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-1984-1996-19/
2. Look at C4s for sale by forum members. https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ale-wanted-54/. Some of these individuals have owned their car for many years and can tell you everything you need to know to help you make a good decision.
3. Google 1987 Corvettes for sale and you'll have multiple dealerships pop up. You can look at other '87s and get a better perspective of a good value for the one you referenced in your message.
4. The seller has done significant and costly work to his Vette but there is much still to be done. He mentioned the paint but I can't tell from the photos what was done to the paint, unless it is intended to have the matte finish. Otherwise a decent paint job will cost in the thousands of dollars. The interior is another $1500 or so. The A/C problem could just be Freon which is about $50; if it's the compressor it could be 10 times that amount. What age are the tires? If they are over 6 years old (manufacture date is on the sidewalls), you'll need new tires for $500 or more depending upon what you buy. Et cetera.
5. If the car is nearby, go look at it. Hopefully you have a good mechanic who could look at it with you to see if other issues stand out.
6. The seller is correct about the durability of the engine. We used one C4 as a daily driver for years with only minimal repairs needed and had over 200,000 miles on it when we sold it.
Best wishes in your quest for a Corvette. Don't feel too rushed. Take your time and find the best possible example for the money you can afford. You'll be glad you did. Once you purchase one, please let us know and post some pics.
Cheers,

Good luck in your search!

The 87 kind of works for me though except for that era anemic 350.. I told myself I will never own something that needs polished again since I own a few sano street bikes and just bought my retirement property in the middle of nowhere on gravel. The 87 looks like a road warrior or Rat Vette with that crappy enamel paint job, especially if I replace those nice wheels with some rusty ones.. Maybe some rusty side pipes? lol
Cheers!
