Hello,
I've been a member before but kinda lost interest in my ce c3. i've had a lot of problems and have a renewed interest in working on it. currently it is not running and no 12v to the distributor. i have a new ignition switch i plan to install this weekend and hope that solves the problem.
it started out where the fuse link burned to the starter, replaced that ran for a while and ended up at the shop with a new engine harness. got it back and ran fine for a couple days then started shutting off on me. with the help of users here i was able to determine that the fuel pump relay works, fuel pump works, bypassed the oil pressure switch to check fuel pump. currently when i turn the key to the run position there is not 12v at the distributor, no turn signals, no gauges and will not start. I hard wired the distributor and blinkers work, gauges work so my problem is no 12v from the switch. i got really frustrated dumping money in it and thanks to CorvetteBen I was able to refresh my interest and to try and tackle the problems myself.
it has been fun but checking fuses and crawling around the tight spaces in this car can be challenging.
anyway wanted to introduce myself, i'm mike and i bought my 82 back in 2010 and have only been able to drive it about a dozen times. it has just under 80K and will post some pics soon. i'm the third owner and was hit in the back while the first owner had it so the car has been repainted back to original color but has no decals. inside and out it's in decent shape.
