The Devil is in Phoenix
Greetings everyone!
I would not say I'm a new Corvette owner as I'm had this car since 2015 and have been learking around the forums in search of info before that. My name is Mike and I drive the DevilC6.
So, This is 2006 C6A6 (666) with a Z51 package. I purchased it in the summer of 2015 for under $20K and it had some interesting issues. Thankfully they are mostly electrical/electronic and I am an electronics tech. The doors opened when they felt like it. The car went through 3 fuel pumps in one week, new driver fuel tank and 2 lower radiator supports. However, the Engine and training are in prime shape and this car will let you know. With all the demons we have exercised on this car, we named it the Devil.
MODS on car when purchased:
I replaced the custom wheels with one better suited for the car as the prior wheels were not even close to what the car was designed for and it road like crap. the car was also quiet lowered and I'm slowing raising it when I do other maintenance. Currently I have the "no fobs detected" issue and am confident my RCDLR relays are bad. They started click like crasy about a month ago and now they do not click at all. I got another RCDLR but am unable to get the DIC to kick in so it can learn the car's FOB, but I do hear allt he relays from it when attempting to open doors or start the car, telling me the old relays are bad. Thus the FOBs are still setup on the old RCDLR. I order the new relays for the old RCDLR and, just this evening, unsoldered the relays off it . Hoping this will resolve the FOB issue. If not. looks like I'm buying a Tech2 for the car for programming the fobs to the new RCDLR.
CURRENT ISSUES:
Nice to meat everyone.
-Mike

CURRENT ISSUES:
- being in Arizona, all the rubber and plastic dryrots. about in need for new weatherstripping and cowel for the car, but no leaks or anything yet.
- Overheating past 110F is another issue. being that this is a Z51 and GM do test the cars here, this is quiet an issue for me.
- Both Doors rattle, but the passenger is the worst. There is a piece of sheet metal that is only tack-welded to the main door support and 2 of the welds are broken on both doors.
Nice to meat everyone.

Safety Car
Beautiful car. Monterey red ? Looks just like my magnetic red C5.
What do you mean by overheating ? Last summer, during that bad heatwave with 115-120 ambient temps, I once saw the oil temp go above 260, and water temp above 230, but I've been told by the forum that's nothing to worry about and hardcore track cars go even higher than that. Of course when it was that hot, the AC got its *** kicked, and couldn't really keep the inside cool.

Welcome and congrats, fine looking car. Yes living here in hell can get hot, but I run my AC, and drive all the time in these temps and never really experience any over heating or high temps. Now when I park in the garage my fans are still coming on ten minutes later as garage gets hotter with car parked inside. Good luck with the getting the gremlins out.
Oh and check out ACE local corvette club with no dues, no meetings, no rules, just vette owners who get together for cruises and good times.

Thank you for the replies! @SixAddit, I don't think I know the "ACE" corvette club.. What kind of things do they do?
@Corvette#2, I was going over 240F on the coolant with this vette, but this is typically when at a standstill because no air being forced under the hood. I also believe the headers have something to do with the overheating and there are no thermal protection against their heat. Was looking to Wrap them and opted against it and am planning to do other options first.
Currently the car is down for the remote receiver module. The one to my car has failed and I have a replacement, but am unable to get it into learning mode to I can get the FOBs trained. I tried to repair the old module, and attempted everything I seen on this forum to get the new module into learning mode. At this point I've ordered a TECH2 programmer for the car to see if I can get the module into learning mode. I'm hoping this will be it.
Since I'm waiting for this programmer to show up, looks like I'll take the door apart and see if I can fix the rattling. I'll link some YouTube videos of what I'm up to a little later.
