I don't know if this is how I'm supposed to do this but here goes. I have recently purchased a 1975 corvette that was sitting in a feild for about 15 years. Although I have owned many chevys I have never owned or even worked on a corvette so a lot of it is foriegn to me. It's very hard to keep the grounding issue in my head. Although I have worked on boats and they have the same issue.
My corvette is in remarkably good condition I guess due to where it sat is here in central california where I live. Very hot summers and fairly mild winters. The paint is oxidized which I polished out for now. I dropped the fuel tank and replaced the fuel lines. I also replaced the lines in front to the pump. Here is a couple of pics.
Anyway that's the car now a little about me. I'm in my 50s and have worked on cars first with my dad at about 12 yrs old holding the drop light and handing him and my uncles tools while they were rebuilding an 283 in my moms 61 impala. I have 3 brothers and I was the only one who wanted to work on a greasy old car.
I sometimes work on cars for a living but not always.I've done a lot of different jobs from surgical instrument mfg and repair to working for a contractor building houses and also doing irrigation and landscaping. I was some years ago a certified auto body man (or person I guess) but the fumes give me headaches so I try to keep away from doing to much of it.
