hello everyone. I am a new member and a 1st time corvette owner. and we can't stop staring at it out the window and still can't believe we finally own a corvette. bought it from a co-worker at a different unit. its a 1992 bright red with red leather interior. everything is stock, as in no modifications. they ran into hard times and the car sat, it was started every week and run for bout 1/2 hour but not driven much..
I live in texas , and the car lived in the sun, so the very tip of the nose is faded, rest of the car isn't ? and I see that the headlights come on and the one doesn't rotate all the way around so it points downward, but it lights up. the car runs rough, but perhaps its from old gas from it sitting? needs a lot of stuff like weather stripping, wipers, things like that, but will tackle them 1 at a time. I'm sure I will come across new problems as I go, but very happy to be part of your little corvette family.. I am welcome to any suggestions,
From: In a parallel universe. Currently own 2014 Stingray Coupe.

Welcome and enjoy the forum. I recommend you make a thread in the C4 General or C4 Tech Sections and ask any questions you may have over there. There are a lot of helpful and knowledgeable people in those sections.
Welcome to the forum, Melissa, and congratulations on your C4!
Unfortunately, the sun does take its toll on the rubber components of any car. Along with the weather stripping, I'd encourage you to check all the hoses and belts, too. They may have also had the same wear from the heat. And you should check your tire date codes to make sure the tires are no more than 5-6 years old. If they are older than that, you'll need new ones no matter how much tread remains. The tires will decay from the inside out.
Vetteman Jack has given excellent advice about checking the different C4 sections of the forum. Good people there, glad to help.
Yes - old gas could make the car run rough, but there could be other factors, too. Plugs, plug wires, etc.
Best wishes with many years of enjoyment with your Corvette. Enjoy your ride and save the wave!
