Hello everyone, I am new to the forum and was recommended to join by a friend. Although I haven't purchased my Corvette yet I would like some help in doing so. My question is with my budget I can afford a C5 Z06 or a C6 base model right now. Also if I wait a few years or find the right one I could get a C6 Z06. I have a work truck for work so I wont be driving it as a daily, it'll be more of a "pleasure"/"dream" car. Long story short which one would be the optimal one to get. Thanks in advance and look forward to getting to know y'all.

Welcome to the forum!!
Best advice is buy as new as you can afford.
Read the stickies in both sections, plenty of good info there.

Welcome. My advice is drive examples of each model you are interested in and see which one you like the best, taking into account the looks, comfort, ride and options available. Read as much as you can on the pros/cons of each generation - there are posts here on the forum that will break down that information. The C5Z and C6Z are both great cars so the decision could be tough.

Welcome aboard and good luck. As mentioned above, driving one of each might help. I think you may surprised at the performance from a base C6 compared to a C5 Z. My first Corvette was a 2005 Coupe with an auto tranny. I was very happy with the LS2. Best of luck!

Thanks everyone. I will definitely read into them a lot deeper. Was just making sure it wasn't cut and dry for lack of better terms. Thanks again and I will hopefully find the right one soon!
