Hello everyone...i just received a C4 corvette from a friend. He was going to scrap it but I told him I'd take it off his hands. So he gave it to me and I am trying to resurrect it. It only has 49000 miles but it has a blown motor and rough exterior. Th e rough exterior is because it was sitting for 4 years.
I'm not a stranger to Chevy (had a 83 z28 and 02 z28) but this my first Vette.
I look forward to learning from you all and getting some advice on what to do about this bad motor.

Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your C4!
Sounds like you have some work ahead of you.
I would encourage you to check the C4 section of the forum at https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-1984-1996-19/ for possible leads on a replacement short block. With the longevity of the C4 there should be plenty of engine options available for you.
You might also want to check https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/paint-body-138/ for suggestions on bringing your exterior back to life.
Best wishes with your project!
Thanks Route99 I'll check out those forums. I've already started tearing off the accessories and getting it ready for the motor pull. I'm excited to get into it.
You have a jewel in the rough. It is good that you took it to bring it back to life. Keep us posted of the progress.
Got to work on the Corvette today. All my kids jumped in and had a good time. My daughter got in there and removed all the tail lights off my parts car for me. My son and I removed the wrecked front end off the donor car and we removed the wiper motor getting ready to pull the motor...
if y'all need parts fpartsn 87 let me know. I'm getting ready to post it now that I'm getting I to my rebuild of the 86.
