Default New C6 Owner

Hi All,

my name isn’t Anthony, and I’ve just purchased my first Corvette. A manual 2006 coupe with 54,000 miles. I love the red interior. I love the way the car drives and feels, and I am surprised at how low RPMs remain when compared to other cars I’ve driven. See pics below.

1) Also, I noticed a bit of oily residue. From reading the forums it seems that these cars are prone to leaking oil. Any help or thoughts on the below pic is appreciated.

I’m standing next to the drivers side wheel. See the yellow circle. Looks like an oily residue. Should I be worried?

Welcome to the forum. For answers to your oil leak problem, post up a thread with details in the C6 Tech section.

You are not leaking any oil...thats road grime residue which accumulates over time from what i saw in your photos...

54k miles is nothing...

close the hood,

just add gas and drive..

Thank you all. As it seems the price of admission, I’ll always monitor to ensure no leaks.

Rod residue makes sense. Hope that’s it. Thanks again all. The car drives like a dream.
