Okay my dream car for years since I was a teenager has been a corvette. I'm not sure exactly which one to go with. I've been looking at the sting rays that looks absolutely gorgeous! But my question is for years I've been used to driving a Nissan maxima which I got so comfortable with. Also used to driving mercedes too. I know these cars aren't as fast as corvettes.lol My question is, would be the best choice to get a corvette? Would it be too powerful to be an everyday car? I love the way they look so its hard for me to think of another car. lol But I hear some people say its their weekend car. That's a bummer to me because if I get a corvette, I plan it to be my everyday daily car even just to go get some milk and bread from the store lol And I live in the city where its traffic sometimes if I drive to L.A. or up the coast to like malibu or san diego. I guess I have several questions, any feedback would be appreciated.
1) Are corvettes economical on gas?
2) Is it too powerful of a car if your used to driving nissans, etc..
3) Are corvette suitable to be a daily car?

Only you can decide which generation of Corvette to go with. It will depend on the features you want and your budget.
If if you are looking at a newer Corvette (say ‘84 and up and especially the ‘97 and newer), they get very good gas mileage for a high performance sports car. My C5s got around 26-27 mpg for an automatic equipped car and 29-31 mpg for a manual transmission car. Of course, your driving habits could affect those numbers. MPG for older models generally do not get quite as good numbers.
It may take some getting used to in terms of the power level and handling characteristics depending on your driving skill, experience, etc. As with any car, careful and prudent driving is a good choice until you have time behind the wheel.
As far as a Corvette being a good daily driver - again it depends on which model you go with. The newer cars are generally more reliable and comfortable for a daily commute. Plus they have more creature comforts to make the trip pleasureable.
When you narrow down just what years/models you may be interested in, start your search and try to test drive a number of examples to see if the car will meet your needs.
Good luck in your search and decision makjng process.
1. I average 24 MPG in my C6.
2. IMO, no! You really need to drive a C5, C6, or a C7.
3. Lots of people do but you might want to save the fun car for when you're not commuting.
1) Are corvettes economical on gas? Depends how much you keep your foot under control. Many newer models get high 20s on the highway
2) Is it too powerful of a car if your used to driving nissans, etc.. All depends on the model you've been driving and are getting. Test drive and don't be using sudden acceleration on corners or cold, or anytime until you are used to what the car can do.
3) Are corvette suitable to be a daily car? Sure, many use them as daily's. I can daily my M7ZR easy. As stated above the newer ones are more comfortabole and have all the latest tech useful for commuting. Check the Regional sections and see if you can connect with some owners in your area.
