I have a 2008 Base Corvette Convertible automatic, bought about 3 years ago, most bells and whistles except the navigation aid. I drive it almost daily, it has just short of 80,000 miles, many short trips and some longer trips, and I take it to the Tucson, AZ dragstrip. My best time and speed in the quarter mile is 13.4, 112 mph this past summer, ( I was told that with an ET <13.49 I need a roll bar in a convertible which I am not going to do , so I guess that is the end of my dragstrip career. I am toying with the idea of doing a tune on it but it is just a hobby and with 80,000 miles it does need to be carefully looked after, not to be too aggressive. The car runs extremely well and my 15 year old grandaughter who has a learners permit loves to drive it. I had a 1959 Triumph TR3 car and a Kawasaki 650 cc motorcycle that I enjoyed. Right now I am considering a Mazda Miata to do autocrossing.
