Hello fellow vette junkies
I am william castleberry. I am from the beautiful Asheville, NC area. I have an 84 corvette that is in rat rod status but I will bring it back to glory little by little. 84 is one of the least popular years and that may be why I like them so much and why my plate says BLAKSHEP. It is not stock and it is a blast to drive. Like being back in the womb lmao. Thinking of trying to start a club here. There is henderson county club but I dont live in henderson county. Anyroads enough blabbbbering I reckon. Glad to be here and thank you for allowing it.

I don't know alot. I got the car from a guy who needed money fast so i managed to talk him down to 1300 with the enkei rims from 2000. It was nothing to look at when the flat bed dropped it at my house. It needed life support and a bag over it's head. I wouldn't start so i replaced the pump and relay . It sat for three years so it was really stiff trying to run but it was running. changed the oil and clean the fuel system. started it up and just let it run. it was choppy and spitting but after about three hours it started to wake up. I had to rebuild the guage cluster and found a couple of cracks when I replaced the polarized film but i can see what i need so it will do for now...and I replaced the power supply. Now it wants to run ...it is amazing ...like a race horse trying to get out of the gate. When you put it in gear it tries to jump forward (not because of rpm). It has LT1 exhaust...performance ignition...chip...and the rear end has been changed...I don't know to what because these changes were made before i bought it but the guy told me it was much better than the stock gear.. It still has issues....fan wont stop running now(it was fine before) there is a vibration when i let off the pedal at about 50 or so but i like the fact that i have to keep it going. I bought this car knowing it would be constant fixer but it's 35 years old and i don't mind at all because i get huge satisfaction out of making things work. Besides i'm old and beat up too. I feel like I brought this car back from death which adds to my attachment to it.
84 vettes get alot of trash talk but mine is running great now at over 160,000 so i don't know what the issue is. it handles like no car i have ever driven before. I am so attached to it that I can't imagine ever getting rid of it. I wouldn't trade it for any other which sounds crazy but if I want another I will buy it and keep my 84.
I will add photo, when I get a min and figa out howda do it.

Thank you everybody.
I am very happy to be here with people who understand the depth of my addiction.
People around me don't understand how deep it is. when you talk about the car it's like oh that's nice. That's when i just go on to something else because I know they don't really know or care about what I'm saying.
Anyroads sorry for the babble and thanks again for the warm welcome.
